Hey now you won't fall below Miami. And I don't expect to sweep you guys. The Cards are great and all but have had problems finishing off a sweep for years. I don't have the numbers in front of my but since 2010 that are something like .200 when trying to complete a sweep. Its quite frustrating.

I'm going to watch this afternoon's game from the DVR starting about an hour late so I can blast thru the commercials.

shoktart, don't look now but the Dodgers won again, might just be a trend, you say their done and they win a game. Keep it up, we might just get back in this thing. I still don't like the direction but a win is a win. A win tomorrow with Kershaw makes 2 series in a row, that just can't be.

Dammit, started the game 45 min late so I could blast thru the commercials and the freakin player went straight to live. I'm surprised that Kershaw gave up 3 runs in the first two innings.

Random thought: Uribe and Dee Gordon are the two least-productive 7 and 8 hitters in the NL West. Gordon was 0-22 before his last hit. He can't get a ball out of the infield. This means that 1/3 of the Dodgers hitters will virtually never produce a run. How can you win like that?

To borrow Tommy's quote about Kurt Bevacqua, Juan Uribe "couldn't hit water if he fell out of a fuckin' canoe." Dee Gordon miraculously gets on and Uribe can't even get it out of the infield.

I often felt that way about David Eckstein. He just didn't have the strength to keep outfielders honest so they play him so shallow. Dee is probably even further on that extreme. Looks like these pitchers have settled in and we have ourselves a nice little game here.

With the bases loaded and one out right there I think Mattingly should have either a.) sent Kemp in to bat for Kershaw or b.) told him not to swing. A strikeout was not the worst-case scenario, an inning-ending double play was and that's exactly what Kershaw did.

From the Cardinal perspective, Skippy is not the guy I want taking this at bat.
