That was a heck of a game. And the dinner I cooked while watching it was also delicious.

I love this new defensively responsible Penguins team. Ovechkin was flying tonight, and looked dangerous every time he had the puck, but the support in the defensive zone was so good that he couldn't finish a lot of would-have-been-brilliant plays off. They were also quick to just about every rebound Fleury gave up, and that wasn't even all that many, as Fleury was pretty on in this game.

And Brooks Orpik actually played well defensively in this game. Color me impressed.

And Despres looked great, and has in all of his recent starts. There is no reason to keep him out of the lineup, even after Letang returns. That one shift he had in the second period with two or three really skillful keeps in the offensive zone was impressive. And man can he skate.

loco, sorry I trash talked? I never do it in a serious tone. And I was at a bar tonight, so that's why I'm not around. Caps played a good game, and it was honestly a pretty evenly played matchup. Holtby had an interesting quote after the game...paraphrasing "We need to stop saying that we were the better team after losses, it's a bad excuse. If we lost, we weren't the better team."

I have noticed that GDTs seem a little quieter than I remember though.

They really have. I'm not posting as much as I used to. Just too much going on really. And I'm the same as you. Post in between and after. I still love our little fam, even when we go off the deep end occasionally.

The Bored thread is down, too. A lot of posters are just really busy right now. Nas has his something-or-other going on. Ritari's off becoming a master chef. Eloco's lawyering or something. Pix is learning to save little athletes' lives. And I'm preparing for my PhD candidacy exam, which is next Friday.

There are just too many things to do. No one has time to post.

The person I am perceived to be on here is pretty different from who I am in real life. The way I act on here is often not representative of who I am. I don't like either of those things. I need a break. I'll check my PMs every once in awhile for the few of you I PM with.

We have a lot of Sabres fans that do not post during the game but wait until it's over. Does it matter? No.

GNT's are for comments during and after the game and even though I don't do it much smack talk is part of the gig. I accept it and in some cases me and some of my Sabres fans brothers and sisters will disagree and at times get into heated debates.

Let's remember it's a game and we all have different opinions at times. It's not the end of the world. I didn't read this whole thread but let's just respect each others opinion and move on. It will get more heated during the playoffs.

It's a sports forum folks and it would really suck if we all agreed with every topic. We get emotional about our teams (see the Sabres GNT last night) I lost it but no harm done.

We have a great group here and lets not let petty disagreements ruin what should be considered differences. We are all adults here and as long as it doesn't get really personal frankly who cares. it's not life and death.

Just my two cents folks.

We both know that he isn't referring to our team. Any team with a 10-game win streak and at or near the top of the conference in points certainly doesn't suck.
