The only outlandish part would be the contract he demands. Cano would never accept anything under $20m/year, and Boston would probably never go over that. And, they certainly would never give a 31 year old a seven year contract, unless it was well under the market annual value.

And, if they somehow acquired Cano, it would be much easier to shift him to 3rd.

Or first. You don't see many position players moving TO short at 30. DP being thirty. For what it's worth I don't see Cano being the ticket to Boston's continued success.

Signing cano for anything more than 5 years 100-125 mil is a bad investment. He has maybe 3 allstar years left in him. Boston is to smart to sign Cano and it'll never happen.
