Pretty sure I could have picked one or two spots on the Philly broadcast that I would have also disagreed with their assessment of. In fact, I'd be pretty willing to put money on it.

You want 100% neutrality on every play, turn off the sound.

i dont need it to be neutral, but at least analyze what's happening.. i woulda been perfectly fine if he said something like 'staal gave him a lovetap and then coburn overreacted'.. but to not even mention the slash bothered me..

and then when the net came off right before the canes guy set a pick and they tried to rationalize out why there were no penalties.. just assumed they 'called' meszaros for interference too, but didnt feel like sending 2 guys to the box.. didnt think about the net coming off before the canes guy set a pick

there were a few others, i didnt write them down though, i've listened to the canes broadcasts before and they normally do a good job.. i just didnt think they did last night is all..

(they also compared skinner to jagr.. i think its a bit early to compare him to a top 20 forward of all-time)

right now they are fighting becuase rumours of changes are swirling
nothing like a trade looming to make someone try a little harder.

As exhibit "a" I introduce to you the four massive stinkers prior to the Pittsburgh game, complete with 3rd period meltdowns, 2-40 minuts of play with 20-40 minutes of pee-wee level efforts, and incredible levels of stupidity.

.. hence the "something's going to happen soon" feelings coming out of Rutherfords camp that loomed large this weekend before the Pitt game.

but its his job, and they should be paying closer attention.. i'm sure a lot of us would KILL to be paid to watch/discuss the game.. IMO they should never get things wrong or leave things out. over the top expectation? perhaps, but thats how i feel.. when you have a job that millions covet, you better be damn good at it
