St. Petersburg's jerseys are eerily Team USA like.

I was about to say "Oh, SKA's goalie looks solid!" Then he turned around and *LIGHTBULB* it's Nabby. Right. Of course he looks solid.

On assist from Yashin. Do I need to remind who's fault it is?

Canes GM Jim Rutherford is not happy as per Blob McKenzie

upset that St. Pete played the game like it was the 7th game of the stanley cup finals. Apparently, Paul Maurice stopped giving Eric Staal a regular shift mid way through the 2nd because they were going at his knees. Rutherford doesnt want his team involved in this type of trip in the future. Blob said a couple of weeks ago game there was a news conference and numerous russian reporters asked Rutherford about how "big" and "important" the game was and he responded that it "wasnt big ... it's preseason" so they ripped him for that ... KHL players wanted to go 120% and prove something while the NHL players are going 80% and trying to get ready for the NHL season

Not liking the way their captain was being treated, the Hurricanes kept Eric Staal out in the third period but said he was uninjured.

"It seemed like they were getting closer and closer to his knees and there wasn't a big concern on the ice about it," Carolina coach Paul Maurice was quoted by NHL.com Mobile Site - Homepage. "He's a National Hockey League star player and he should be playing in the National Hockey League."

You can't blame the Russian guys for playing hard. Not only for pride or to show off the KHL, but also to show it to the NHL reps watching that "Hey, look! You could've (or should) signed me! HAH!" I understand keeping your stars out though, I mean, it's exhibition. However, the intensity isn't anything new to these guys...they'll see it in a few days.
