PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Canada is heading into the IIHF World Hockey Championship on a winning note after beating the Czech Republic 4-2 in its final tuneup game Wednesday.
Brent Burns had a goal and an assist while James Reimer picked up the win in goal.
Luke Schenn, Cal Clutterbuck and Jason Spezza also scored for Canada, which beat France 3-2 in its other exhibition game.
Martin Havlat had both goals in reply for the Czech Republic.
The Czechs won gold at last year's world championship and dressed a strong lineup that included Patrik Elias, Martin Havlat and Jaromir Jagr.
However, Canada raced out to a 4-0 lead through 40 minutes before Havlat scored twice in the final period.
The Canadian team will travel to Kosice, Slovakia on Thursday and open the tournament against Belarus on Friday.
