prior to the WHC...4-2 over the Czech Republic. Wild game looking at the scoresheet.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Canada is heading into the IIHF World Hockey Championship on a winning note after beating the Czech Republic 4-2 in its final tuneup game Wednesday.

Brent Burns had a goal and an assist while James Reimer picked up the win in goal.

Luke Schenn, Cal Clutterbuck and Jason Spezza also scored for Canada, which beat France 3-2 in its other exhibition game.

Martin Havlat had both goals in reply for the Czech Republic.

The Czechs won gold at last year's world championship and dressed a strong lineup that included Patrik Elias, Martin Havlat and Jaromir Jagr.

However, Canada raced out to a 4-0 lead through 40 minutes before Havlat scored twice in the final period.

The Canadian team will travel to Kosice, Slovakia on Thursday and open the tournament against Belarus on Friday.
