Tabata and Presley will be swapping spots atop the order, Jones and Alvarez are out, and McGehee and Hague are in.

I like the lineup better this way. I like Tabata best at leadoff and like Hauge + McGehee better than Jones/Alvarez.

Tabata should have swung through his offering. It was in a good hitting spot. Nice to see Presley get a hit, but it would have been nice to do something with it.

i think harrison looks like he lost a lot of weight from last year. looks slim and maybe it will pay off for durability, speed, and his hitting stroke is in a groove.

I noticed the weight thing about Harrison, too. And the swing he put on that double was very nice.

Tabata and Presley both look like they're going to contribute atop the order, and there were a lot more line drives today off the bats of Pirate hitters than yesterday, which is encouraging, especially off a guy like Lee. Unfortunately, most of them were right at guys.

Karstens looked very good today. Honestly, I felt he outpitched Lee, and was at the very least more efficient.

Let's get the bats going a little earlier tomorrow and take this opening series!

It's getting harder and harder to believe that fortune plays a large role in Karstens pitching. His heater is touching 92. That curve makes guys like Hunter Pence look foolish. I say we give him another few months and then work on locking him up long term.

A few random thoughts.....

- It's SO-O-O-O good to get that first win out of the way.

- This one looked like a lot of the games from the first half of 2011.

- The lineup changes for game 2 made a lot of sense. Good for Hurdle.

- It's all about pitching. Small sample, but our pitching for the first two games has been very encouraging.

- Two straight sellouts. Hope all that enthusiasm helps the team.

- Hoping to see the good McDonald today.
