Can we make the playoffs?

I think we have a slim chance. In order for us to make the playoffs IMO, the first thing that needs to happen is that we cut this 6.5 WC deficit down to 4/4.5 entering September. We just have to keep on winning series but we really need to play better on the road. The 16 straight games against AL East opponents following the Angels series will make or break our season. We need to go at least 11-5 in that stretch and most importantly we MUST win our series against Baltimore/Tampa.

with 45 games left I would say that we have to go 30-15.

To do that we need CC to become CC.
Hughes and Pettitte to atleast give us QS in half their remaining starts.
Find some way to get Cano, ARod, Soriano, and Granderson to start giving us some consistant offense
have the back end of the bullpen get back to what they were earlier this season.

I will always have faith, but it is not looking good this year.

We're not too far back yet at that moment. There is still nearly 2 months left of baseball. If we were 6.5 back on September 13th instead of August 13th I would agree. As I said before in order for us to have a chance at the playoffs we need to cut that WC lead down to at least 4/4.5 by September 1st.

a lot of teams in the mix tho...Oak/TB/Balt/Cleve/KC then NYY...2 of these teams get the Wildcards (or replace TB w Bos and Oak w Tex)

if they do, it ain't gonna be easy

Agree. A lot of things must change in order for them to make it. Mainly more consistent offense and more consistent SP from the rest of the rotation excluding Nova & Kuroda because those 2 are awesome.
