The scary thing is, he's obviously the best player on that offense, he's single handily made Carolina a legitimate team, and he's only going to get better. If he doesn't win a superbowl sometime in his career, or at least come close, it's going to be a freaking shame.

Cam Newton has far exceeded my expectations of him. I can say I am on a gradual (fast) pace of being wrong about him.

Cam is not on that offense all alone though. He has a great two headed RB combo, he has one of the more dynamic WR's in the league in Steve Smith to throw to. He has talent around him, he is not alone.

He is getting a lot of yards, because they are making him throw too much. Carolina needs to balance out the offense and MAYBE, Cam could start winning games. This is a different league than college ball. A QB is not going to win it all by himself. He is showing he makes some questionable decisions when forced to throw as much as he is. He is getting a bit over confident (confidence is not a bad thing) but he is making too many mistakes also from that confidence. All t he passing yards in the world does nothing for you if your team is not winning. Granted, it may keep you in the game with a bad defense, but if you have a bad defense, you need to control the clock and keep them off the field. Balance out the offense, and MAYBE Cam can be a good one. If they keep calling his number this frequently through the air, they will continue to struggle, and so will Newtons passer rating even though his yards are unprecedented for a rookie QB.

Maybe. That's where being able to read the defense, make the correct read/progressions, and a quick and accurate pass are the most important. Time will tell.

Him and Stewart both need the rock. Cam is a beast. A future star for sure, but it would be beneficial to him to run the ball and take some pressure off.

I take that back, in this game he did actually run the ball in twice for scores.

Cam just keeps marching on.... 1/4 of the season down and he is easily the roy. Might be more than a few folks around here with egg on their face if Cam can continue to grow.
