Could this be the opening game next September? That would be quite interesting all eyes would be on that game!

The Panthers' list of opponents for the 2016 season has been completed based on the final regular season standings for 2015.

In addition to home and away games against NFC South foes Atlanta, New Orleans and Tampa Bay, Carolina will play all four teams from both the NFC West and the AFC West. The Panthers' remaining two intra-conference opponents are based on the 2015 standings. Carolina will host Minnesota and play at Washington after all three teams finished first in their respective divisions.

Dates and times will be announced by the NFL in the spring. After that, an on-sale date for single-game tickets to Panthers home games for the 2016 season will be determined.

The NFL season will kick off Thursday, September 8, and the regular season will conclude Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Reportedly, Bed Bath and Beyond towel sales have increased ten fold since yesterday.

I'm sure that a competitor like Newton relishes the opportunity to face the Broncos again. Don't think he even smiled in the second half last night, let alone danced.

Would be interesting to see if they set up a Super Bowl rematch to open the season

Awesome. Would love for this to be the Opening Night game.

Also happy about playing Seattle and Arizona again.

Even if Carolina beat Denver on opening day I doubt it would make up for anything that happened yesterday. If I was Carolina the last place I'd want to start my season would be in Denver and have to watch them lifting their new Championship banner to the rafters.

Winning in the regular season never makes up for losing a Super Bowl. Will be one game I'll definitely want to see though. May be the season opener.

I know they're professionals who should not need any extra motivation, but maybe this would actually give them some extra motivation.

I certainly wouldn't want them thinking they're going to cruise back to the SB next season. This shit should hurt all year.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the New England Patriots come to town for Opening Day next season.

They could win by 30 and it can't make up for yesterday.

I'm not saying CAR is one and done, but before we can start talking about making up for something...they need to tie down some big FA loose ends and get a little more flexible on OFC.

I think that's more likely. The NFL tends to shy away from SB rematches to open.

I think they'll showcase this game though, maybe 1 of the first Monday night games of the year or on Thanksgiving?

To bad it will never make up for the choke job he had last night.... Even IF they meet in a Super Bowl again and he potentially wins it..

Eh, I don't think that Newton "choked" last night. Rather, I think that he is an incredibly talented young athlete whose team faced a damn tough opponent.

how many throws did his miss? Did he go after a ball he fumbled? I do credit the Broncos D they were in his face all night but when he had chances he didn't make them.

It would be interesting to have that be the first game but like another poster said they don't usually try do the whole back to back games like that. The Broncos have a few choices for that opening night game. New England definitely looks like a clear choice. Kansas City is another I could see. Right now looks like those 2 and Carolina are about the only 3 options.

You are right that he missed a number of throws, but I've never thought of him as a particularly accurate passer. Your point about him not going after the fumble is also fair. He is 26 years old and an incredibly gifted athlete. Certainly has both room and time for growth.

he is gifted but he isn't a team player and it showed last night

I think what you saw last night was the difference between a very seasoned team in the Broncos with veteran leadership and that of a very young team depending on the young guys to lead them. Just watching Cam all week it just seemed it was more about selling his brand than it was about winning the game. It actually kind of reminded me of the Broncos from 2 years ago where it was about having fun for those 2 weeks where the Seahawks were all business. This time around the Broncos were all business and didn't let the week become too big. Also I think Cam showed even before the game the week was getting to him. His interviews started with him all smiles and by the end of the week he just seemed so annoyed by every little thing. Just has a lot of growing up to do if he wants to be considered among the all-time greats.
