Cam can make up for all this with a rematch in Denver next season

he is gifted but he isn't a team player and it showed last night

There is no denying that he celebrates himself as an individual player. That works well when things go well for his team. Not so much when his team struggles. I do think that it would help his team if he were to operate on a more even keel. Perhaps that is a lesson he learned last night. Still wouldn't say he "choked" last night, however.

Panthers can only play better, that was one of the worst performances by a Super Bowl team.

Newton gave an interview before the game about how great he was they had no other QBk to compare him to because he was so much better than all the others so they didn't have a comparison to him blowing his horn about how great he was and then comes out and made an idiot of himself fumbling the ball standing around not even trying to recover his fumble, throwing the ball to hard and too high to his receivers! what a joke .I guess he forgot a team is a team when they all work together and then gives another interview after acting like a little baby when the fault and the game loss was mostly his fault. This blowhard needs to grow up and check his attitude hes not all that as we all saw. What a disappointing game and he was the biggest disappointment!

At least he took no credit for the loss, and gave no credit, hoe generous of him.

A regular season victory won't go much and it most likely won't be against Manning either. Wonder how long this pathetic SB performance lingers over him.

I think next year will be an important year for him. He will need to show that he can overcome defeat and humiliation.

Yeah, a good week one would certainly make up for his pathetic SB performance...:hellno:

It's gonna take more than a good season opening game to make up for that pathetic performance. The performance I'm referring to though was how Cam acted after the game and at points during the game.

As for returning to the Super Bowl, Cam newton will never get back.

Now that the NFC sees the Panthers weak points, they're going to be all on Cam like the NFC was up on Kaepernick until they break you and you want to quit and play for the CFL or lingerie football league. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news Monday but once you lose a Super Bowl, you usually do not and I repeat DO NOT return to the following Super Bowl that year after.

Cam, since you want to be a Legend then maybe you should play for the Legends Football League.

You had your chance.

Cam's got some serious growing up to do - right now he's at a 6 year old's maturity level. I don't think he's going to make up that much in a years time and success is definitely not going to do it.

Losing is a much better teacher for issues with humility.

I think that's more likely. The NFL tends to shy away from SB rematches to open.

The past several years the earliest the NFL has scheduled a DEN vs NE game was week 5 in 2012, before that you have to go all the way back to 2006 when they played in week 3. They normally like to have that matchup in either November or December. If I had to guess I'd say they do that again.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the New England Patriots come to town for Opening Day next season.
I don't think it will be New England. Remember, the NFL is still trying to get Brady suspended for 4 games, would they really want the opening of the season to be Osweiler vs. Garoppolo? I can't see that.

I don't think it will be the Colts, either. Without Manning, that matchup loses some of it's luster.

And I don't think it will be Carolina. The NFL seems to avoid scheduling a Super Bowl rematch to open the season, even in year's where they had the opportunity to do so. I'll bet Carolina gets the first Sunday night game of the season at home.

Denver's 5 other home games are Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders, Texans, and Falcons. I think we can safely eliminate the Falcons, Texans, and Chargers. The Raiders are intriguing because they did beat Denver last year, they seem to be a team on the rise, and they've got a young qb the NFL would be wise to get out there. But I think they still have too much of a losing stigma, and because of that they won't be the choice.

That just leaves the Chiefs. Divisional rival, played Denver in a thrilling Thursday night game last season, very talented team that's definitely a Super Bowl challenger. The Chiefs and Broncos will open up the season.
