Hillman has been trash thus far, but we have no RB depth and a new OL. I don't really have a problem with him on a one year deal, but he is gonna have to compete with a draft pick for the #2 job. A guy like Jonathan Williams in the mid rounds.

Of course I'd still love Booker at RB, but would appear we aren't going RB early.
Montee Ball is trash. Until Hillman gets overweight, lazy and beats women then I'll agree that Hillman is trash. Just saying.

If he is cheap, I am about it. Means we don't 'HAVE' to go to running back early in the draft, which again, gives us flexibility.

In the Super Bowl, 5 carries, 0 yards

This team is about winning in the post season

In the three postseason games, he ran for 32 yards .... He gets eaten alive in the playoffs

What can he do that Kapri Bibbs or a generic rookie couldn't do ??

So long as you don't guarantee him any money, why not? He's insurance to compete with younger guys you hope beat him out, but worst case scenario you keep a guy that knows your system and at times had marginal success despite a patchwork OL. I'm not a big fan of Hillman, but if no one else is knocking on his door a non-guaranteed contract is a no risk proposition for the Broncos.

Not my favorite move but since he isn't getting any offers elsewhere sounds like we can get him really cheap. With a new QB starting this year makes sense to have a veteran backfield that can help protect him and help him learn the system.
