Bishop will want too much term, MAF's remaining contract is just long enough to give Gillies time to hone his skills/assume a backup role before taking over (hopefully).

Just three games, but MAF seems to have regained some confidence. That's the key thing for him, but it's so fragile. A bad goal, or having his role challenged by a hungry backup, and he is apt to fold. If a team like Calgary commits to him as the starter, I'm sure he would be better than Elliott. By all accounts he's also a popular teammate and good locker room presence. Pens have enough of that, but could help a team like Calgary stay loose.

He's one of the most athletic goalies in the league. He needs that because he has brutal rebound control and gets pulled out of position on East West plays. He can be great on breakaways, but not great when the other team has sustained pressure and is digging out rebounds. Not sure which Calgary gives up more.

He has been much more effective than he was in 2015 against the Flames - The guys that have been impressing me though are Shea Theodore and Brandon Montour, I don't know who's responsible for scouting young defencemen for the Ducks, but he's doing a fine job. When you add Cam Fowler, Hampas Lindholm, Sami Vatanen, and Josh Manson to the defense corps, the Ducks look set for years to come.
