Can anyone explain to me why Cal has always sucked?? I mean, they've been pretty much irrelevant since the 80's, right?? I just dont get how the flagship university of the state of a football-rich state like CA, has never been able to forment/build a legitimate "winning program". A team that is almost always ranked, and always competing for the PAC 12 title. How has that not happened at such a school? Are their academic standards way higher than those of everyone else??

sad thing is, there is more Stanford fans there tonight then at the Oregon game, which was a much bigger game.

And I bet the Stanford fans showed up only to brag about what grade they got on the calculous test to Cal fans.

And how was it a much bigger game? It only might have been because Stanford had to win out for playoff hopes. They still control their path to the conference championship. It was a bigger game for you, not standord...

Their academic standards are higher than everyone but Stanford. And they have to compete with every other school in the state for those recruits.

Not really. It is because both teams have been the power in the pac north recently. The game was no more important to Stanford than every other they had to win for playoff hopes... this game is their rivalry, and they have to win for the pac north championship.
