I fucking hate ESPN's broadcasting these days. They have truly morphed into ESPMZ. The more sensationalized the story the better.

This is the graphic they just flashed:

Gee, wow, the first team in 70 years to start 30-0 during the regualr season?... or in fact, the first team to do so in the last 5 years, since the preseason-tournament exemptoin made it possible for teams to play 30 regular season games? What a joke.

Along the same lines as "Arizona wins in Boulder for the first time since 1973!!!" (aka Arizona did not play in Boulder from 1973-2011 and is 1-2 in the last 40 years)

this. It's the most ridiculous thing ever. And yet people eat that shit up. I was ACTUALLY excited when I first saw that stat, and then looked it up and realized we NEVER played them when they were not in our conference

Yeah, I didn't even have to look it up. I remember when Arizona played there 2 years ago, Colorado's first year in the Pac12, and everybody was talking about how it was the UofA's first trip since the 70s.

I don't really care that they made that statement in the article, but the fact that it was the headline? The link on ESPN was actually "Arizona with first win in Boulder since 73".... rather than "Arizona scores 58 second half points to give CU 2nd home loss"... or something similar.

Sensationalism at it's worst.

You missed like 57 dunks by Arizona in the first half. You missed them pulling away to a 20 point lead on the way to a blowout... you missed them giving up a predictiable run to Cal, to cut the lead to 8 and you are just in time to see them score a few baskets and get a few stops to push the lead back out to 12.
