So far so good for the M's! I have been listening to the games and they are playing great so far! Maybe this is the year Ackley can put it all together and if we can get some pitching we may sneak up on some folks? What our your thoughts?

I reported on day 1 that he was reaching in BP before camp even started because he was huge. Just read the other day he weighed in at 270. 270!!!! Good news for the NW is that we are looking for a Guard and RT. He can continue his eating pattern and then just move over to the Hawks camp later on.

I'm not watching any Spring games. They mean nothing and there's been too many years of being hyped up. I'll wait until the season starts. I'm not making any assumptions and I sure as hell don't have any expectations. They could win every spring game and I wouldn't care.

I fall into this camp. I'm watching but not getting excited about anything until the season starts.

I fell into the trap last year when they were hitting multiple HRs and it looked like Smoak, Ackley etc had turned the corner only to watch them come out and lose 90+ games.

I am watching. I do believe there is something to be learned from spring training but you have to be realistic about it and understand that it is spring training. The big thing is getting everyone healthy, in game shape and simply getting the game back.

The W/L column doesn't matter until the regular season but I am interested to see how some players perform individually.

That's going to be tough if Kuma and Walker have to sit a couple weeks or more at the beginning of the year. I don't think it'll be as bad as last year's early rotation was, but getting those two guys back as soon as possible is the only way that this team is going to have decent pitching and that's just the starting rotation. I have no idea what's going to happen with the pen.

I will never pay attention to a spring training game unless I'm someday able to be in sunny Arizona to see one in person.

Cactus League play is the ultimate in irrelevance.

Thanks for the comments. James Jones has been an interesting player. I bet he starts the season in Tacoma but looks like a possible great addition to the outfield. Any thoughts?

There was an interview with Jack Z on the radio today and he was asked about whether or not they would be adding anyone else or bringing back Moralas and the answer to both was basically no. They are not adding any more money and will not be going after any other available players.

This won't be the first spring they end up over .500 and still fizzle out long before the dog days of summer hit us. They look good now against nobodies, but with nothing more to help out that batting lineup, and with all of the questions on the rotation, does anyone see this team breaching .500 in the regular season?

I predicted 79-83. Just don't like what they did this offseason. One step forward, one step back.

I think it would be amazing if they finish over .500 if they stay where they are at with the roster!

I was trying to wait on my prediction because I figured there had to be more move comes coming. No way they go into the season with this outfield/rotation but it appears they will. Agree this offseason is pretty disappointing. It seemed like they tried hard to prove a point rather then build a better team. There is a lot of things I blame Z for but the budget isnt one of them. Unfortunately the only way for us to compete is to spend money like the Angels and Rangers or have a shrewd GM like the A's. We have neither so hello 4th place.:lame:

Remember how playing the Astros 19 times was supposed to make our record way better. Oh wait we only went 10-9 against them including 3-6 at home. oops
