While I think it sucks to lose a quality player.
I would much rather lose him than pay him that kind of money.

Dolphins agreed to terms with CB Byron Jones, formerly of the Cowboys, on a multi-year contract.
The deal will make Jones the highest-paid corner in the NFL a year after the Dolphins gave Xavien Howard -- at the time -- the largest deal for cornerbacks. The two are now teammates for coach Brian Flores' defense. Miami had loads of cap space and was able to win any bidding war. The Raiders and Eagles were reportedly hot after Jones but lost out to the upstart Dolphins. Jones was Pro Football Focus' No. 13 cover corner out of 128 qualifiers last season.

hearing it should be in the 17 mil per range

Good for him. Classy guy who does whatever he is asked and never complains and does a great job on gameday every single week. So consistent and so underappreciated by Cowboy fans. BUT (and I say this going only by the comment that he is the highest paid CB) there is no way he should be the highest paid CB or even too close to that. I knew we were losing him and I was hoping he got a huge deal both for him and because it would mean it was a smart move for us to have let him go. I'd have to see the details and see if it's just backloaded with "cuttable" money but I can't see how we should be matching a deal that makes him the highest paid CB.

Also glad to see him out of the division

Happy for the guy. Glad he got paid. But no way should he be the highest paid CB in the league.

I’m sure there is more to the picture. But good for him. And good for us. Move on.

Giants just are a terrible franchise. The keep signing these defensive free agents year after year and they still end up sucking
I do like the move of getting the GB LB for what to me is a reasonable price

i like Jones a lot. His availability was one of his best things. Most CBs these days miss time with injury. I think Jones missed one game in his career that I remember. He isn’t Gilmore, but after him he is definitely in the ball park
