Buying my boy a Marlin 60 SN for Christmas

Picked it up this morning at Bass Pro. Didn't see a sling I liked,but that only gives me another excuse to go to some sporting goods store.

I am excited! I want to take it out for a test drive before Christmas. But bullets are scarce. I have stockpiled 400 rounds so far, but if I shoot now, no telling when I will find more.

LOL at me. I don't even have a .22 that is mine, but my daughter and middle boy do now. I am good with letting them bring down the game, though. It's more fun watching their excitement on a good shot than it is for me to actually pull the trigger.

We used to have 'em in an old chicken house until I shot a buddy of mine in the chin and he had to go to the hospital to have it removed. I can't remember what kind of bb gun it was but it was awesome. Had a collapsible stock and was strong as shit. Sunk that damn bb atleast 1/4 of an inch up in his chin from probably 50-60 feet away. We had our 2nd amendment rights infringed on by the parents after that one.

Yup, that sounds like a terrible place to take a bb. Looking back, I guess I'm pretty damn lucky to still have two fully functioning eyes.

The Marlin 60 makes for a great first rifle. It was my first. Excellent choice.
