Buy. Oswalt is a solid #5 and seems to be getting better. I honestly don't think Texas will trade for Hamels or Greinke and if they do I believe their concern may actually lie with Colby's health.

Beltre is in MVP conversations by September.

sell....dont get me wrong he "might" get mentioned but nothing to serious it will be josh/pujols/miggy/ortiz more than likely if they keep it up

sorry forgot my statement......

david murphy will be a ranger after the deadline

buy ... (tried to make that the smallest font possible)

Had Martin been hot like he was in AAA then Murphy would have been expendable when Moreland returns. Now it looks like Moreland will bump Martin back to AAA before he gets 45 days on the active roster to preserve his rookie status for 2013 ... and Murphy remains a Ranger unless TEX acquires a corner bat. Wash likes Murphy so will be very tough to move him. I actually thought he'd be gone by the ASB and was wrong.

B/S ... (On related topic) ... Moreland's rehab will last until the last day of allowed once he comes off the DL ... and even when activated we see as much of MY at 1b as we do now.

yeah ive been thinking murphy would be traded all year....as i stated in other threads....i love me some murph and will hate to see him go but he is a major league ready player that we "theoretically" will be ok dealing and wont hurt us that much

Was it Carl Furillo that made the deal work for you?

re: Snyder... Buy

Thanks for considering that he might actually appear in a game this week. During the second half would far prefer to see him at 3b subbing for Beltre than MY over there.

Think it was a good move for both Oswalt and Colby (potentially) that they get starts in OAK. Harder to get in trouble there for a pitcher getting back in a groove after the ASB (and DL stint as applicable).

Both Colby and Oswalt might now be starting to scoreboard watch keeping an eye on Feliz progress getting ready to return. Colby has the better outing of the two in OAK.

Well he got a start, lets see if he does anything

Would have liked to have been to Frisco to see it ... but EG's writeup I think it was sounds like was the shuffling, lackadaisical Feliz who couldn't locate his fastball and had to dial it back in the second inning with breaking balls. We've seen that guy before and he wasn't successful.

Head to head ... on completely different stages ... I think Oswalt won round one ... if there were a competition going on.

I was talking about Snyder

Like I said, I'm not 100% sold on Feliz as a starter yet, and I'm not convinced his biggest value to the rangers isn't as a trade piece for a blockbuster acquisition.

B/S Rangers reacquiring Cliff Lee?

The Rangers are focused on Cole Hamels and Zack Greinke, but Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com hears that the team's long-shot backup plan involves trading for Cliff Lee again. Lee's contract is an obstacle, plus the Phillies indicated that they're not looking to move their veteran lefty ace.

Sell on reacquiring Lee.

B/S ... Ross workload may burn him out for Sep/Oct... so TEX options him to RR to rest until late Sep and recalls Martin Perez to replace him.

Sell, but only because I think they would just DL him before sending him down to rest. Why send him down to sit.

B/S The Rangers are really looking for a bat, like Upton or Victorino, and not a pitcher.
