Buy.

Snyder has a good game off the bench this week.

Was it Carl Furillo that made the deal work for you?

re: Snyder... Buy

Thanks for considering that he might actually appear in a game this week. During the second half would far prefer to see him at 3b subbing for Beltre than MY over there.

Think it was a good move for both Oswalt and Colby (potentially) that they get starts in OAK. Harder to get in trouble there for a pitcher getting back in a groove after the ASB (and DL stint as applicable).

Both Colby and Oswalt might now be starting to scoreboard watch keeping an eye on Feliz progress getting ready to return. Colby has the better outing of the two in OAK.

I was buying the Colby Lewis part 6.2+

I want no part of rentals like Hamels and Greinke

Yeah iwant no part of those terrible pitchers

Nobody said they were terrible, I clearly state why I don't want to trade for them. They are both very good pitchers, but at this point they are rentals.

Don't be an idiot.

I've never had a problem with Snyder, I just offered up Snyder as the one place we could improve the team without paying a premium price; RH bench bat. Maybe someone used to coming off the bench to hit cold.

Even upgrading over Torrealba is going to cost more than its worth to improve the backup catcher position.

Buy on Colby Lewis. But I think both pitch well.

Matt Harrison ends the year under a 3.25 ERA

BUY the bold

Texas is looking at a pitcher, but not those two. Texas got a great audition this weekend in their real target. Unfortunately the starting price consists of Olt and Feliz then some filler high level prospects...for Felix.

Texas will resign Andrus before FA and move him to third base eventually and transition Beltre to DH giving us an infield of Elvis, Profar, Kinsler.

I'll sell on Elvis playing 3rd base. He has more trade value as a defensive SS than he does playing 3rd base for us! I look into seeing what we can get for him in the 2013 offseason.

Sell. Very wishful thinking. Seattle has said over and over he will not be traded. Would love to have Felix, but it's not happening.

Perhaps, I find it hard to believe that anyone is untouchable if the price is right.

I'd settle for Josh Johnson then. Anyone buying that? He could be cheaper now that he has been hittable, but I don't think he is 100% yet.

Sell. I think Texas does something. Maybe not a blockbuster, but even on the selling side..we have parts that need to move. Borbon for one. He isn't going to ever play for us. So if we can flip him to someone for anything, it would be better than just having him waste away. Maybe aim for some AAA catcher who isn't special but could be serviceable?

B/S: Harrison places in the top 5 in AL CY votes this year.

BUY big time. Potentially could end up in the low 2's.

If you drop his Apr 27 and May 2 starts where he gave up 6 and 8 ERs in shortened outings ... his ERA would be 1.96 today.

In his last 8 starts going back to the beginning of June he's given up only 8 ER in 59.0IP (1.22ERA). His only loss during that stretch was his 2-1 CG loss to CHW.

Buy... but will be tough for him to take it with low K#s.

Harrison tied for first with Price for wins (12) ... but with 73Ks he's tied for #33 alongside Santana and Millwood.

His propensity to generate DPs with 13GDP is tied for #9 and not on the pace he was last year when he finished #2 in GDP with 30 behind CJ with 31.

His 4.1WAR for 2012 already exceeds his 3.5WAR for entire 2011.

TEX already has a AAA catcher in Luis Martinez who was just promoted with Napoli sidelined. Would like to see Martinez get some quality work to see if he is a better #2.

Doesn't mean that TEX doesn't look for another C to backfill him at RR though. If they could get that sort of player in exchange for Borbon I can see them making that move already. Clearly they have been holding onto Borbon to use as a piece of a bigger trade. In any case though ... I can see Borbon being moved before the deadline even if in exchange for another AAA player if the bigger deal doesn't include him.

I would like seeing Martinez get some playing time the next several nights and isn't relegated to sitting on the bench and watching Napoli and/or Torrealba going 0-4 night after night.

To take a pause from the game for a second.....

Torreabla is out on paternity leave. Hence Martinez being called up. That said, sounded like Napoli was feeling better. So I would be surprised if Martinez gets into a game while Torrealba is out. (baring an injury to Napoli that is).

You can now resume your regularly scheduled programming. :p

When I made the comment it was in reference to trades for the ML roster

That said I would think it great if some of the fluff down on the farm could be flipped to a contender for some talented pieces to fill areas of need in the future (C, OF, 1B, etc...)

Would be nice to see Snyder at 1b and Martinez at C in OAK. In the case of Snyder at least there will be a guy who can field a pop up and has a shot of getting all the way to the stands in foul territory unlike the other two guys who pretend to be 1st basemen on the TEX roster.

As for C ... would prefer Napoli to just chill out for a couple of games. It's not like OAK is the place for him to all of a sudden start hitting.

B/S ... Oswalt holds onto his spot through the deadline...

Buy. Oswalt is a solid #5 and seems to be getting better. I honestly don't think Texas will trade for Hamels or Greinke and if they do I believe their concern may actually lie with Colby's health.

Beltre is in MVP conversations by September.
