:wtf2: does this have to do with Kendall Bussey getting a scholly offer from LSU? Blount (a Juco) also punched a kid after getting beat by Boise St. that first game and got suspended.

You brought up Oregon, like they've never had nor would they ever offer a big running back. Things aren't so black and white with recruiting.

i brought it up as a comparison. Bussey doesnt fit LSU's offense at all, just the same as a large RB wouldn't fit Oregon's under chip kelly…I don't think the comparison is that hard to follow man

you brought up blount after my oregon example…so i simply countered by pointing out that blount, while under chip kelly, was never used (yes he was suspended, but still played 4 games gathering under 50 yards total at 2.7ypc)

it was just my way of pointing out that its been stated by Callahan that an LSU offer is extremely unlikely due to a horrific fit into their offense

Chuck errr Callahan has a pretty good point. He'd be the smallest RB they've taken in the last 3 years by quite a bit. Not many backs under 6' and 200 lbs are gonna get much of a look from LSU.

Besides, who the hell wants to play there right now? You're just gonna ride the pine behind Fournette.

Don't be surprised to see him pulling SEC offers. He's lighting up the camp circuit.

Well, I'll excuse Chip Kelly for moving on to life after Blount. Can't stick your head in the sand and wait on that situation. Gotta do what's best for the team. I do admit Chip liked smaller runningbacks, however, that really isn't the case with LSU. Les Miles takes what he can get and makes it work. They aren't stuck to just one body type for runningbacks. If Callahan will have you believe they don't like certain types, then I guess he just wants to spread misinformation. They've got everything just in the past 5 years from 5'-10" 170 Jakhari Gore to 6'+ 220 Kenny Hilliard. Also, OC Cam Cameron has coached many different styles too, from Antwaan Randle El in college to Drew Brees (w/ LT) at SD, and even a stint with Baltimore (Ray Rice). So he can adapt to what talent is given to him too.

My point, is don't take some guy's word that it can't happen just because. Les is a coach with a history of having a balanced offense and Cam is an OC who can blend his style with what talent is given. Now going into year #2 together, they can offer anyone who they think is right for their team.

im not saying its an absolute, just saying its extremely unlikely with the style LSU plays….i mean if you're gonna sight jakhari gore as an example fine…the dude had 25 career rush yards at LSU and anyone that has ever seen LSU play under Miles is well aware that they run a pro system with a prototypical RB not little scat backs. ya don't have to agree with my premise but your facts just aren't applicable.

Hell yeah they can offer anyone who they think is right for there team…which is why mine and Callahan's exact point…bussey isn't right for that team and they way they have CONSISTENTLY played football under Miles…sorry man, you're wrong :noidea:

list of the leading carriers at LSU under Miles:

2005--Joseph Addai: 5-11, 215lbs
2006--Jacob Hester: 5-11, 235lbs
2007--Jacob Hester again
2008--Charles Scott (really a FB in size, but still their leading rusher that year): 5-11, 242lbs
2009--Charles Scott again
2010--Stevan Ridley: 5-11, 220lbs
2011--Michael Ford: 5-10, 216 lbs
2012--Jeremy Hill: 6-1, 233lbs
2013--Jeremy Hill again

the lightest RB to lead LSU in carries under Miles was 5-10, 215lbs….quite a far cry from Bussey's listed 5-7, 188lbs

Hard to say someone is wrong when the process hasn't played itself out. I don't see Bussey as only a scat. The dude is what 5'7-5'8, somewhere around 195 pounds? He's getting close to pork chop size and he was no scat. I think he has enough size to handle the all mighty SEC. If he gets no love from LSU, I'll be man enough to admit I was wrong. On the flip side, will you?

Charles Scott (6-1, 220) 424 career carries
Richard Murphy (6-1, 195) 106 carrier carries

2007: Stevan Ridley (6-0, 220) 306 career caries

2008: no RB recruits signed

2009: Michael Ford (5-10, 200) 243 career carries
Dominique Allen (5-11, 235) 0 career carries

2010: Spencer Ware (5-11, 225) 295 career caries
Jakhari Gore (5-9, 156) 8 career carries
Alfred Blue (6-1, 200) 209 career carries

2011: Kenny Hilliard (6-0, 220) 212 career carries
Jeremy Hill (6-1, 224) 345 career carries

and ill go ahead and stop there cause i think you get the point

Total carries for RBs under 200lbs under Les Miles:…114 in 9 years there for a grand total of 12.6 carries per season or (assuming 12 games each season) 1.05 carries per game

i mean my entire point is that its extremely unlikely. it CAN happen, like i said its not an absolute. But Miles has shown a consistent pattern of only using prototypical-to-larger or even FB sized guys as his main rock toters

Must be nice to be LSU and not want/need a kid like this.

when you get to a certain level college football wise you don't have to chase.... they come to you or wait for your offer

Understood.

Wish that would be case for Huskers, again. I think back in the 80's and early 90's they could get most that they wanted?

He's not going to get an LSU offer, unless it's as a slot receiver, and he doesn't want to play slot receiver. LSU doesn't recruits RBs with his size and build. I think we're safe.
