I say it's at least 50/50 that he gets a 1 game suspension.

When it comes down to it ...it's everything the NFL is trying to change.

$32,000 fine and nothing more. They aren't going to do a suspension in the playoffs, and unless he has a habit of hits like that probably not a suspension in the regular season.

Hell no.

But I have a feeling Bud Dupree will be a household name in a few years. That dude is a beast.

Just tackle the guy. No need to tee off like that. Deserves whatever punishment he has coming.

A saving grace for him may be the wobble-legs Moore had. Bud should have gone lower, but it isn't like Matt was running upright and strong. he looked like he was stumbling drunk and ducked.

I just don't see how that hit can be treated like the others that you get a flag for.

Again, that hit is the holy grail of what the NFL says it wants to stop. We will see if they really mean it.

Once you roll out of the pocket you're considered a runner and you're fair game. Shouldn't have been flagged.

Moore should have made up his mind sooner and thrown it away.

Clearly a fine...the fact that the QB came back in a player later, very doubtful he gets any type suspension...not a repeat offender.

How? He was trying to get to Moore before Moore could throw the ball. And he was a millisecond late. What was he supposed to do?

Well, what the NFL wants him to do in the future, is to let up and let the QB complete throws downfield.

Credit to Moore for standing tough, but he knew what was gonna happen there, and willingly took the beating to help his team. He could have gone fetal, or ran out of bounds.

He led with his helmut. He deserves a hefty fine.

I have a new found respect for Matt Moore though.

If the league starts fining/suspending players for helmet to helmet hits on runners... they'll be trying to get the toothpaste back in the tube from this point on.

It's about damn time, too. We've been trying to develop OLB's for years, with lots of failures to this point.

He didn't even try to put his hands up to stop the pass. All he was looking to do was make a highlight reel vs a defenseless QB.

Not true:

(g) When the passer goes outside the pocket area and either continues moving with the ball (without attempting to advance the ball as a runner) or throws while on the run, he loses the protection of the one-step rule provided for in (a) above, and the protection against a low hit provided for in (e) above, but he remains covered by all the other special protections afforded to a passer in the pocket (b, c, d, and f), as well as the regular unnecessary roughness rules applicable to all player positions. If the passer stops behind the line and clearly establishes a passing posture, he will then be covered by all of the special protections for passers.

b, c, d, and f includes forcible hit to the head and neck.

Those are rules for a passer... not a runner.

Which he was.

I mean, the section quoted starts with: "When the passer goes outside the pocket area and either continues moving with the ball (without attempting to advance the ball as a runner) or throws while on the run..."
