He is probably better than Brady Quinn?

You don't get anywhere trying to upgrade your 3rd string QB. Do you bring a guy in who was so toxic the Buccs paid him 6 million to go away?

And no, he's not better than Brady Quinn.

ESPN: "The Buccaneers tried to trade the recently demoted starter but were unable to find a taker...Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik contacted all 31 other teams in an attempt to trade Freeman, sources said."

ESPN:

"Since 2010, Freeman is 11-23 (.324) as a starter. Among players with at least 20 starts over that span, only the Jacksonville Jaguars' Blaine Gabbert (.192) and the St. Louis Rams' Sam Bradford (.317) have lower winning percentages"

Surprised Bradford is lower.

55 million for Vincent Jackson and nobody to throw him the ball.

The race for Bridgewater is on.

So the Bucs cut Freeman, and two QBs go down with injuries the next day. Seems like they blew a shot to get a draft pick, even if it is a late round pick.

They should jump on him, but let the financial baggage clear 1st. IMO, Jax needs to start with a clean slate...I see them going QB in the draft...most likely Bridgewater or if Manziel keeps tearing it up, somebody is going to take him in the 1st round.

Freeman is probably better off going to a team where he doesn't have to start this yr, but have a shot next yr...KC because Reid is good with resurrection projects. Other teams that might want to stir up the things is STL, MIN, or CLE...NYJ aren't settled @ QB...just didn't make sense to give up pick for him when most knew they were going to release him at some point.

A day late and a dollar short...Idk how trades work when guaranteed money is remaining on a contract as was in his case, but his base cap figure was not bad at all for a starting QB.
