why does hurdle refuse to use pimentel.
i would use him over frieri and maybe over wilson at times.

pimentel has a live arm and still pretty young. if he was trying to stretch him as a starter, we have enough guys now with worley, cumpton, and locke coming through and volquez being pretty consistent.
this year, pimentel is a BP arm and needs to be used in more - watson, melancon, hughes, pimentel/wilson, then mazzaro and get rid of frieri. use gomez when a starter crashes and we need 3-4 innings from someone.

our starters have done a pretty good job lately of getting into the 7th and even the 8th occas.

mlb has listed all 5 outfield outs frankie has gotten as line outs. he sounds like he is getting hammered and many pitches, balls and strikes seem to be up in the zone.

hopefully just rust and not his baseline we will see the rest of the year.
the nice thing about him being bad this year will make it easy to not pursue him for next year.
