Star, OU's got Josh Heupel calling plays and even though he's Oklahoma's "fair haired young boy" his play calling sucks as often as it is good. I supposed he's learning (on our nickel!) but it's painful to watch. Any concerns you'll have the same problems with Major Applewhite when he's The Man who calls all the shots?

Applewhite learned from both GDGD and Harsin as far as playcalling goes. The entire reason he was "co' OC was just to learn. This was a planned exit, it simply happened sooner than they expected.

Harsin and Diaz were hired with the knowledge that if they performed, they'd get better gigs. At their ages, you know they're looking to move up to HC jobs. Texas is the perfect launchpad for that.

I like Major as the OC......he's bold, tough, and a risk taker. He also recruited most of the talent on this team on offense outside of the OL.
