Should not have tempted fate Brandon, but luckily you won this time.
I agree with your argument, but, c'mon man, lay off the weed NOW that you've been given another chance.

Go Hawks.

Brandon Browner has announce his reinstatement to the NFL. His threat of a suit led to a change in his status. Is a unrestricted free agent

he is a free agent, right? Should be interesting to see if the Hawks bring him back or not. With how Maxwell played I'm not so sure...

He didn't deserve to win.

Deserve doesn't mean shit in the business world. It's almost a childish concept, like fairness.

Leverage, negotiate and sometimes earn are words that really mean something in business.

The NFL should have held their ground though. He had no leverage, and his suspension was more than fair.

Obviously the NFL disagrees.

Part of running of successful business is knowing how to pick your battles.

From the cheap seats it's easy to say that they are fucking up, but the pocket book says otherwise.

Hey, don't necessarily want BB back, just wondering what your thoughts are on him in Free Agency?
Will he be shunned?
Will he be highly sought?
Do the Hawks have any interest?

He did what he did, he got caught, the system was flawed, they agreed on a settlement, let's move on.

What is BB's future in the NFL?

I'll start with this, I like our other DB options better than BB.

I like our other options as well. BB was the weak link in the secondary, imo.

Somebody will give him a decent contract though i.e. Jacksonville.

Happy for him. Seahawks should pass on him in FA, but I'm glad he'll get signed and hopefully get paid.

I'd be OK if the Seahawks brought him back on a 1 year deal for $2-3M based on what it takes to get guys like Bennett and Tate etc re-signed. Otherwise pass.

Just don't see Browner with a place on this team unless it was a 1 to 2 year deal for like 4M each year. Just too many priority signings. Can't keep em all. Not to mention we are still so deep with Lane/Maxwell (who played lights out) and gotta remember Tharold Simon who we drafted is another big 6'2 physical corner. Lot of people forgot about him and Jesse Williams as they were on IR the entire year. I think we already saw the release of Red Bryant due to Jesse Williams, who can fill the same situational role that Bryant played on this team.

Williams is a huge body and his specialty in college was against the run. I think the entire 2011 season he played at the 5 tech, which surprise surprise, is where Bryant played. He was originally a late 1st/early 2nd pick which before his injury nobody gave him a chance at slipping to Seattle with the late 2nd, but Seattle lucked out and had the luxury of drafting him due to an already deep D.

He will get picked up by someone and not likely Seattle. He has value for even our team given how he does against big physical receivers, but given the risk of him being banned again and probably for good there is no way Seattle pays him what some team in desperate need of help at corner will. Does he get top dollar? No way. Will someone still overpay him based on the risk? Absolutely.

There is nothing in the reports about his status in the program. If he is still stage 3 he likely is still looking at a lifetime ban with any type of screw up and has a history of doing just that. If it turns out they have dropped him back to stage 2 or lower then he likely gets a big payday.

I'd rather bring Thurmond back. Maxwell is our #2 cb, we need a nickel corner and Thurmond is perfect for that. Browner, because of his size and lack of speed would get murdered as a nickel corner. His strengths are playing press on the outside.

The whole thing was bs to begin with. Any player in the NFL could find some doctor who'd be more than willing to prescribe some addictive pain killer for them to get hooked on and the NFL would be cool with it but a guy smokes some weed and he's banned? People have been brainwashed into think that it's some nasty gateway drug when it isn't. Most of the rowdy lushes I knew were much easier to deal with when we threw a bong and a nintendo system at them.
