Sounds like they already have him penciled in as gm 1 starter by everything I've been hearing/reading. Must not have a lot of faith in him (Garcia) or feel real strong about Mathis stepping right in without even getting on field yet. Go Evan! Learn fast Garcia! :)

One of the first things Kubiak said was really good at getting second level ... and finding his target very important .

Here is his NFL top-100 video voted by the players. I don't take much stock into their voting but it does give you a little view of what he brings especially to the run game...

I don't think this is a knock on Garcia. I think this is a depth issue. The coaches have said over and over that they have not been happy with the 2nd unit OL. Essentially that translates to "Our depth on the OL sucks big time and we have to do something about that because eventually an injury will happen." The coaches and players have all talked up Garcia but this is one of those you can go get an All-Pro type talent which now moves a promising rookie into a learning/step in if needed because of injury. The great thing about Garcia is he is a guy that has played pretty much every position on the OL so having him as a back up means he can step in wherever there is an injury and help this team out.

I think this is also the Broncos look at history and history has not been kind to teams that have been this young and inexperienced on the OL. This at least on the Left side gives the Broncos somebody with a ton of experience to help out the two young guys plus give Manning just a bit more comfort knowing he has such a great player in front of him.

Not only does Evans bolster the interior he'll also help being on Ty's side

OC, that is right on the money . . . Garcia has looked very good, and IMHO he will be a great Bronco in years to come

But starting two rookies on the left side is not the wise thing . . . Mathis and Sambrailo is just a better option right now

You build champions from the middle out. I am real comfortable with Mathis - Paradis - and Vasquez. On the D - you got Sly Williams - backed by Trevathan and Marshall. It is classic football wisdom.
