They judge that based on the fact that the Patriots are in the market for a QB, but the top 4 QB will be gone before they get to Lamar Jackson (so might as well be high on him). I like Lamar Jackson a lot, but he does not seem like the right guy to practice behind Tom Brady to me.

Yes... the Giants would get 5 in that deal, too. But these are just rumors. The same page has been reporting that the Giants would select Darnold if he doesn't go #1 for weeks now.

I really hope that we don't trade up for a QB. I would love to see us use 40 and 71 to fill some holes on the Oline and maybe a skill position player (especially if we end up trading CJ). But I have to trust that if we do trade up, whoever we get is head and shoulders above the other guys that we probably would have gotten at 5.

Yes, I’d be surprised if the Browns don’t select Darnold that the Giants would trade down.

From a trade standpoint this actually isn’t giving up too much to move from 5 to 2.i would hate losing out on 2picks, but I would be in favor of the trade to get the QB we want.

Yeah... we would be winning according to the charts, but I think the #1 and 2 spots are a bit inflated in terms of value. This year is kind of unusual in the sense that there are 4 QBs thought of to be "Franchise guys". That doesn't even include Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph. That's sort of why I wouldn't mind trading back. I feel like this is a year that someone would way overpay for that 5 spot if say, Mayfield or Allen were there. Unless we think one of them is our guy for the next 10 years or so. Then, we have to stay and take him.

What I appreciate is that George's group will win our bet - that's a good thing no matter how the dice finally tumble out.
