From what I know

if the Broncos don't go QB at 5, Chubb, Smith, and Nelson are the ones they are looking at

Not Barkley, or do they expect him to be gone?

@Dr Cyanide 28 - I really enjoy your posts, input and speculations!

I've heard the Broncos have shown no interest in Roquan Smith which surprises me. Could be a smokescreen too. But they have not contacted him. I figured he might be an option in a slight move down in round 1, but not at #5.

Kubes still thinks he can find TD in scrap pile like old days. I know you can but, hitting like we used too is getting farther out of our rear view mirror.

I would say anyone picking in the top 8 has to be considering Barkley... Weather you need a RB or not he is just that good. I wouldn't normally take a RB in the top 10 but would not hesitate at all to take RB's like Barkley, Fournette and Gurley in the top 10. Yes, RB's are a dime a dozen, but not these 3.

I think the worst scenario is if Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Chubb are the first 4 picks.

I have seen a lot of buzz lately that Cleveland like Allen and he could be the #1 pick.

Do you want a Mike Anderson/CJ Anderson or a Clinton Portis/Terrell Davis. Big difference in output and game breaking plays.

Sure I bet there is a Clinton Portis in the 2nd round but first of all he has to be there when you select later
Why not take the Portis/Davis type when you can?

This is why at 40 I'm interested in RB.

Esp as bad as our O has been lately how could you not be open to doing it even if its against your thought process overall.

I really feel Allen will end up going #1.

These guys drive every QB pick into a ditch. Almost everyone else's 4th choice. I think - as blessed as he is with an arm - that if you don't have high completion percentage at Wyoming - it is hard to argue that you will in the pros. On the other hand - he doesn't look or play much like Johnny Football.

I would love that. Allen is the QB of the top 4 that I think has the most bust potential. Small school, didn't play well vs "good" competition, low accuracy percentage.

But if he goes to the Browns, somehow I hope he works out to be great for them.

It'd be nice. But I am thinking about it like this... If he goes to the Browns, he can't come to Denver and be a bust.

John Elway is good at what he does. Free agency and pro personnel decisions. Hopefully, he leaves the draft up to his team and Kubiak.

so latest is that Darnold-Rosen-Mayfield-Chubb are going 1-4. Was told 'worst case scenario', meaning these are our top 4...

If this happens, denver likely tries to trade back w/ buffalo or arizona. Denver DOES NOT want Allen

I think the worst scenario is if Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Chubb are the first 4 picks. Right now, I’m either very happy or more than ok with any of those four.

If I had to pick if the worst scenario presents itself, I’d probably select Barkley. I’d be ok with Nelson, but still struggle with a RB or OG at 5...

Looking at trade down partners, the five teams below us don’t have the huge need for a QB, so that takes us all the way to 11/12, Miami and Buffalo. If Buffalo really wanted Allen, I’d make them pay their #12, next year’s first rounder and maybe 4th this year, although I haven’t looked what they have left.
Like I said....
