NFL free agency rumors: 49ers have spoken with Lance Briggs - Niners Nation

Injury prone, but didn't he bitch earlier in his career about not wanting to play in a 3-4 or was that someone else?

Either way, given the draft's seemingly slim pickings in ILB and our newfound organization depth issues at the position, I'd be up for it, 1-2 yr deal that's incentive laden with guaranteed money in yr 1 upon making the Week 1 roster.

His age scares me a little bit, but I think we would help us out if he can stay healthy kind of like Spikes did a few years back.

I would take it. Stop Gap. Draft a MLB this year in Rd 2 or 3. This would give team some depth.

If we bring in Briggs and draft a LB what do we do with all of them? That would give us 10 LBs! I would say Moody and/or Lemonier get cut/traded.

Not sure why the team is brining this guy in. Seems he is over the hill.

I'd rather have Henderson at this point. I'd really prefer Mason Foster of all the names out there, but he's a FA, not a cut. Frustrating that we will potentially lose comp picks on guys like Pears and Wright. Ugh.

Will we lose comp picks if either are cut?

No, they've got to make the roster for it to affect the comp pick formula I believe. Though with the guaranteed money for both, it would be a surprise if either didn't make the team.

Good lord, is Briggs still in the league? he's gotta be ancient by now.

Mason Foster signed with the Bears. He's the one FA left I felt could have been a three-down starter at ILB. At this point, I think we either go Henderson or we sit tight until the draft and look for someone in the third or fourth round.
