The fact that the Bruins won the Cup last year is all you need to know. The fact Seguin leads the Bruins in scoring & they have a stud Defenseman in Dougie Hamilton on the way as well makes the deal even better for Boston.

87 point per season clip since joining.
90 points per season clip whilst in the line up.

I'd offer Phaneuf about half to 2/3's of what he's getting since they're only slightly better with him playing. Although to be honest, if this year keeps up, his numbers will be significantly better.

I suppose the difference between a non-playoff spot and a playoff spot in eastern conference.
