not sure what to make of the move. they didn't give up anything and his contract is friendly. he is the best 3rd baseman they have had since crede (not saying much). he was suppose to be a star in the making a couple seasons ago but couldn't stay healthy. he was healthy last yr but was pretty average. crazy personality.

upgrades, on a scale of 1 to 100 with 100 being the point where they can seriously compete, they are at about 5. two pointless pickups at catcher and unless lawrie turns it around from last season very small improvement at 3rd.

wake me when they actually do something.

Interesting pickup, could be a 20 HR 75 RBI guy... but as mentioned above. This makes us no closer to competing.

Lawrie is a grinder. He can field the position and he can use the bat. Sanchez becomes a SS/2b utility player.
