That's kinda what I'm thinking. Get rid of a woman beater and pick up a pretty damn decent, although injury prone-ish, MLB player.

Kemp is injury prone and he's signed for 3 more years, and we have to pay him.

While, I think we did get the better end of the deal, I wouldn't call it a fleece of the Padres.

But, with the 10-12 million coming our way from the Pads and Olivera's salary coming off the books, it's like getting Kemp for 8.5 million per season, which is about on par for his level of production.

I was on board with getting him and giving him a shot to see what he's got but, after the shit he pulled, I would've been ok if we just flat out cut him altogether tbh.

And getting Kemp probably means either Markakis is gone, or we just got Kemp to flip him to another team.

Given a choice though, I'd rather have Kemp than Markakis. Kemp is still productive and has 23 homers playing half his games at Petco this season.
