Should the Broncos bring Brandon Marshall back to Denver?

This guy still has the talent - I think he has mellowed some. For the right price (and with the correct attitude) I wouldn't mind seeing him back in a Mike McCoy offense.

Thoughts?

Note - it shows you just how much things have changed in the NFL - where this Brandon Marshall needs to be differentiated from the Denver Linebacker of the same name (instead of the other way around).

I mean I missed Marshall the day we traded him, so I wouldn't complain. I don't see it happening, but I wouldn't be upset... He and Nick Eason are the first Bronco draftees I ever got to know before they were Broncos so he holds a special place in my heart. Hell, bring Eason on the coaching staff. He was coaching for the Titans last year. We're bring back all our former players as coaches anyway. :)

That being said. I don't think it will happen. We have our top two guys and money spent on them, and I don't see him as being that type of "3rd" WR" we are lacking right now. He would be nice, but he is going to want to be a top 2 and get paid like one.

Last year Marshall was quoted saying once he was done with the Jets he would retire, doesn't mean he will.

He probably wants to play in the playoffs once in his life.

Hard to imagine him coming here as a #3.

He and Jay Cutler can go to the Texans in a package deal. ;)

I don't see why. We've got better, younger receivers already on the roster. Why bring him back?

I have no animosity towards the guy. I don't know if WR is a FA priority.

Well if I were the Broncos I would just be showing him how much it helped the career of Larry Fitzgerald. Just because you are a #3 doesn't mean you are targeted like a #3.

That said I"m guessing what he will want in a deal will be well out of the Broncos price range when they have other positions of greater need.

Not sure I agree with the "better", Marshall is proven and nobody outside our top two are, but I think the younger thing is a key..

I think we are looking more for a slot, guy to stretch the field maybe even a guy who can return and play the slot for us.. I'm not sure the fit is good for Marshall, but he does have a little left IMO.

I think moving Sanders to the slot and running Brandon Marshall and D. Thomas split out - would be devastating to a defense for coverage.

There's no way Brandon Marshall gets a top dollar contract - he (IMO) is just the kind of veteran who can be brought in cheap for a playoff team atmosphere.

I dispute the notion that Brandon Marshall isn't better than the number 3s the Broncos have on the roster now.

Cutler in to replace Oz - that will descend you a few more levels toward the pit of hell.

Agree with this. I don't think Marshall will come cheap by any means, but he won't get top dollar by any means.

Precisely!

Cutler might be the one QB in the NFL that would be downgrade from Asswiper!
