Well, he's back (obviously). Bochy has said that he plans on using him off the bench, in pinch hitting roles, double switches etc.

Is this a smart move? In a way, it may help the kid. In pinch hitting roles you are typically asked to be more aggressive. I think we all agreed that that is what Belt needs to be more often. But then again, if this is how they are using Belt, then why not bring up Ishikawa? He's already been in this role before. Let Belt continue worl in the minors.

What do people think? How should we be using Belt?

What does Belt have to work on in the minors? He's done with them. He might end up AAAA but he's already way past AAA. Time to face the music.

That said, while I don't see why Belt couldn't play LF sometimes against a tough righty in addition to the stuff Bochy is proposing, I will in this and all things defer to Big Head Ringmaster.

So that's where I'd differ w Boch, I'd start him maybe once a week against a righty. But mainly do what Boch is saying.

I know I might sound like a broken record, but since you asked, I think you play the kid and see what happens. I love Burrell and Schierholtz as much as the next guy, but Burrell is a bench player at this point in his career, while Schierholtz will never be anything more than a bench player. And, I'd rather see Boch give playing time to Belt instead of Rowand. No way on Ishi.

I think if Belt's up, play him. Start him in LF except against the tough lefties (I'm talking Lee, Kershaw etc.).

Give Burrell a start every once in a while, Torres and Ross play full time, maybe Schierholtz starts a little more often against certain righties. Rowand 5th OF.

Well, he may be heading to the DL with a "hip injury."

I guess "busted bozack" isn't something you want to put on an injury report....

That must've hurt like hell, but you gotta admit, that was pretty funny.
