interesting tweet by Chris Botta (Isles writer):

told Brad Richards' first choice is not to sign where hockey's life and there are a lot of reporters. He may not have that choice.

Dear Brad Richards,

The Post gives the Caps one page tops even during the playoff push and local sports radio hardly ever even mentions the team.

Sincerely - Caps' nation

how fucking retarded was it for the Stars not to get assets for him at the deadline?
they can still maybe get a draft pick or something for his negotiating rights..... but imagine what a Conn Smythe winner would have brought at the trading deadline?

and no, the Stars didn't stand a chance in these playoffs, eve though they only missed out on the last day.
and yes, the Stars knew even at the deadline that the couldn't make a realistic offer to Richards. Their ownership picture was a mess back then, too. just plain piss-poor asset management.

Fuck the Stars, and bless them for fucking themselves like this.
