Well seeing how fans never win anything because only the teams themselves can I guess you are right?

Failing at a goal doesn't equal failing at the season. Every team has that SB goal when they open camp every year, but there are different levels of success. Teams like Atlanta that didn't get in at all or the train wreck in washington are different than say SF getting to the NFC championship game as a WC and losing on a late play by the other team.

No fan will be happy watching their team lose out of the playoffs, but unless you think your team is going to have some bad off season and your team isn't going to be as good as this year I'm not sure you call it all for nothing. At least most don't look at it that way. This is just what those looking to stir the pot say.

If you think every team's season is a failure that doesn't win then so be it. Not everyone agrees with you. SF had an outstanding season last year even making it to the SB and likely they didn't feel like that was all for not.
