I say if Boswell misses anything inside of 40 yds during preseason (or has any near-misses inside 30), he's gotta go

I was a little surprised they didn't draft a specialist but historically the line between drafted and undrafted kickers and punters is pretty thin (fuck lately it almost seems like teams are better off not drafting one).

I'm not surprised they're going to give Boswell every chance to have the job just based off how much money they've sunk into this (which I think he'd have been gone by now if it weren't for the contract).

Berry and Berryman should, however, absolutely be on even ground. Berry has been below average (which is putting it kindly at times) for a few years now and Berryman had some good numbers in college. Hoping he can get this job.

Boz's contract dictates a $4.8m dead hit if they were to cut him this year. Not exactly damaging, but ugly for a specialist. And that $21.1m in dead space to Antonia is looming large, so every dead hit on top of that just hurts that much more.

Oh yeah but even with the new contract he shouldn’t be safe. No different than Boswell.

Yeah, you would think a dead money hit would not be the cause of a kicker being safe on a roster, Actually I think Boswell's contract was made safer because of Browns dead money hit.

Totally agree. I’ll be shocked if he is gone he’s have to go 50% in preseason with a min of 8 attempts

I truly think if he goes 3/6 or 4/6 he stays

maybe hidden injury?
Not likely but can't say for certain. Thinking the stadium atmosphere of the "family fest" practice rattled the young kid.

Wish we could see how Wright missed it. Because if he was short then I'd be more upset about it than if he was just right or left, know what I mean? Wouldn't do much good to provide a soft leg for camp competition.

As I suspected... Wright's got a softie leg. Not good. Granted, Suish was capped at 52 and that didn't stop him from having himself a career revival while here.
