So when the numbers glorify Brady, they're great. When they expose him as no longer an elite QB, they're unacceptable. Is that about right?

Don't know how you came to that conclusion. Brady is ranked where he belongs right now. People are saying that ranking has a good chance of improving by season's end. Is that such a wild prediction?

Hell, he can't get any worse or the Patriots will bring VY or Leinart in to try to get the ball to the receivers.

I doubt those guys could get the ball to the rookie receivers or run a highly-ranked offense. They had their chances and failed with more than one team.

That's not what the post he replied to said.

This just isn't accurate. If you look at the splits by veterans v rookies, he's still passing at a very high level to the veterans. His numbers to the rookies are bad, and forcing it to them to get them looks is part of the gameplan. It will pay off down the stretch.

Okay, so you'd say you were happy with Brady's passing on Sunday?

I don't think he had an amazing game, but yes, I am happy with where the team is right now. When your primary targets are rookies you have to force balls to them to get the game timing down. This offense is highly predicated on a lot of reads and precise timing. You could simplify it some for them, but throwing them into the fire will pay off more in the long run.

Of course not, all QBs have bad games. Why do you assume Pats fans are so happy about our team's performance so far?

And things like Tom Freakin' Brady being the 22nd ranked passer in accuracy according to PFF is why I don't take anything from PFF nearly as seriously as I would with Sabermetrics in Baseball.

This is what hammer replied to. This is saying the number has less value because it rated Brady so poorly.

I actually almost agree with hammer on this part, although for the next 2-3 years, there isn't a QB I take over Brady. There is no way for a statistic to take into consideration the problems with new England's offense at the moment.

JDM, you know I respect you for taking allot of shit from me and still staying objective. But you can't tell me that Brady's accuracy woes on Sunday were the fault of rookies. He wasn't even close so many times and it had nothing to do with patterns or routes. I can guarantee you that Patriots coaches aren't being as dismissive as you are about Brady's game.

He had a poor game. I am not denying that. But I think your rating of his performance on the season as a whole underestimates the impact of a completely new cast including multiple rookies, two of which are fairly likely to be his one and two options at the end of the year.

Your comfort level with Brady is off the charts and I can relate to that. When #9 was doing this thing for the Titans (RIP Steve) I had total confidence in him. But never did I deny that Peyton Manning was the best QB to ever lace them up.

Come on, man. You can't be serious. You're saying Brady will be your first pick when he's 39? After that game Sunday?

For the next 2-3 years, yes. Long term RG3 is my guy (although I think there's a decent chance Shanahan ruins him). But I think Brady can play at an elite level for the next couple of years, and with the game on the line, he's money. No one wins them all but some do more than others and few can compare to Brady.

You guys are really confused, I am completely lost in your petty arguments and have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Good night and peaceful dreams.

Right-oh, like you guys are making sense. I have no problem with Hammer, he is cool, brings fun thoughts to the board. As far as I'm concerned, it's like running around in circles, like a dog chasing his tail, but all in good fun.
Anyway, take care and keep up the good fight.

First he says this: "You guys are really confused."

But then in the very same sentence he says "I have no idea what the hell you are talking about."

I'll admit I'm confused on how he wasn't able to follow our discussion. It was pretty straight forward.

Ah, not so hard to understand Mr. Hammer. Maybe I should have said: You guys are really confusing.
Keep it simple so dummies like me can understand the elevated topics you bring to the table with such passion.

So you choose to ignore my comments, were they so difficult to understand? Or did you conveniently ignore them to make a point?
