Step 1: Grilli arrives and pitches well.
Step 2: Banister rides the ever-loving fuck out of Grilli.
Step 3: Grilli's performance suffers.
Step 4: Grilli is DFA'd.

Oakland is 12th out of 15 in ERA. SF is 11th out of 15, and has the highest BA-against.

I didn't mean this year. I was referring to their track records. The Giants developed all those pitchers that they used to win the World Series recently and Oakland has a long list in the last 15 years of ace quality pitchers that they have developed such as Hudson, mulder, zito was probably a good #3, gray

both Bay Area teams have really good pitching coaches. Makes you wonder if our bullpen troubles are management related.

Who are those coaches? Honestly don't know.

And although I was never the Maddux fan lots of you were, he's done OK and we haven't since he left.

Well, 1) you've made it clear that not winning it all means performances are pointless, and 2) I have no idea what Oakland's success developing starting pitching has to do with Sam Dyson's last 6 innings of work.

Dave righetti has been in San Francisco for 15 years. They've won 3 World Series with pitchers he has developed. We know the Giants aren't known for their lineup, I'd say their pitching won them those championships.

Curt young is the coach for the A's. Oakland never lands free agent pitchers because of money, but every few years the A's seem to piece together a dominant pitching staff on the cheap. I'd take both guys over what we have here. We can't seem to develop pitchers for some reason.

I have got him by almost 4 years I think and I applaud him for still getting it up there at 92 that last inning. I do good to get it up to 85 anymore

Now you're just trolling. I was commenting on the Bay Area initially which contains both San Francisco and Oakland. I was using both teams history of developing and successfully utilizing their pitchers to make the case that the guys we have here are not getting the job done.

In regard to your " not winning it all comment", I'd argue that giving Mitch an infinite number of chances because he hit a home run in the World Series or even had a good series while everyone else struck out is beyond stupid. Mitch's tenure here was very lackluster.

Dyson is doing well after leaving, Moreland is doing well after leaving. Those 2 guys are prime examples that you could point to if you're trying to make the case that our coaches suck.

Sweet at bat Choo

The man has a quality AB damn near every time up.....go back and look at his NP per game.....He leads the team by a lot. In fact, tonight, in the 1st, he worked 7 pitches I think.
