There is one simple fact though.............Johnny and Tommy **** play at the same time..........so one of them has to sit on the sideline that means........I'm pretty sure anyways.............idk, maybe I'm wrong on that..........isn't that how football works?.........1 QB at a time?

Thus far, Johnny appears to be more of the type of guy who can step right in and be the leader our football team needs. That doesn't mean a damn thing though.......Tommy may be that guy as well. But looking at highlight films of Tommy throwing the ball 65 yards in the air and jumping over a guy into the endzone doesn't tell us shit about what he can do for our team.

........:eyebrows:

i might be crazy here, but why has no one tried to pioneer a 2-QB playbook?

like a pistol formation with 2 QBs side by side, then a RB behind, 2 WRs and a TE....if you did it with 2 QBs like Martinez and Stanton (dual-threat QBs) in together, where one could act as a second RB or 3rd WR.

that way you wouldn't know which QB was going to get the ball snapped to him from play to play...it just adds an extra wrinkle

it would def be complicated, but it seems like you could make it work eventually no??

I brought up this idea last year somewhere in a thread.......actually it was precisely the same exactly idea....

I do believe you could fool a lot of defenses when they don't know where the hell the ball is going to be snapped to.

I think one argument that was brought up is that there needs to be 1 QB out there leading the team.......

But in my opinion, there could be 1 QB leading the team, and the other QB could just act like a RB...........but one who can throw. Have one guy calling the plays and making the checks.........but both guys can make passes en sech.

One play I always thought would be cool is a zone-read jump pass where Rex actually takes the hand off and immediately hits Reed in the back of the end-zone.

That or you have 2 QB's, one under center and one in the slot. One motions toward the QB and runs essentially a jet sweep but has a pass-option to a reciever running a bootleg route.

Jamal could probably do it. I know he's listed as a WR but he can throw better than most recievers.

I just think it opens up several interesting avenues.........

For instance, when we run the Wildcat, Taylor is obviously lined up as a receiver.......and it would be too obvious to send him out on a route.....

But, let's say you put Taylor and Tommy in the backfield split side-by-side.......nobody knows who is getting the snap.........the ball gets snapped to Tommy and he rolls to the right..........Taylor takes off left and heads down field. Now we have the fastest guy on the team possibly wide open.

That's just one of several things that comes to my mind though........of course, Taylor would need to be able to catch a pass.

Each could realistically start for 2 years...

If Tommy's good enough, burn his redshirt but only if they're absolutely positively going to give him as much PT/Mop up duty as realistically possible.

Redshirt Stanton and you can eliminate some potential drama down the line.

could you imagine a 2QB formation with Taylor and Tommy as the QBs, Rex as the RB (played a little QB in HS, and has thrown some short passes for us) and Jamal in the slot?!?! the possibilities would be insane!

lol...actually i was thinking today, you know how the Jets have been really secretive about their use of tebow and the wildcat?

well i was thinking, everyone already knows what the fuck the wildcat is, so why the hell are they trying to hide it?!?!

thats what made me think of a 2QB backfield...what if thats what the Jets are working on????
