I feel sorry for Nebraska football, so just like they gave Osborne a going away gift in 1997, I too, will give you the gift. :suds:

Gift? Is that what they call that in Michigan?

Pretty sure everywhere else says we just took it. But you do you.

If you 'took it'? Your coach wouldn't have announced he was retiring prior to the bowl game, begging for pity votes, just like Scott Frost did too. It was a going away present.
But take it -- Nebraska football will never have a shot to get back to elite with their move the B1G West. They have nothing to sell recruits on. They don't have national rivals, they play in one of the 3 weakest divisions, they don't have the academics and they are located in a state with next to no talent and surrounded by states with next to no talent.
That's why I said -- take it. Nebraska May never have another shot.

Osborne retiring had nothing to do with it. 97 Nebraska > 97 Michigan and no one outside of Michigan thinks otherwise.. hint hint... that is why ESPN had 97 Nebraska ranked higher than 97 Michigan (considerably btw) and every other fan base agrees too.

Since the AP poll started Michigan has 2 national titles, 1 of which is split with Nebraska. Conversely Nebraska has 5, 1 of which is split with Michigan.

Since 2000...
Michigan 166-87
Nebraka 159-98

You have 7 more wins in the same timeframe of Nebraskas worst 2 decades in 60+ years.

Oh and we were in a national title game more recently than Michigan.

So you can believe that Nebraska will never return and that is fine - but historically speaking, Nebraska is more likely than Michigan.
