Harsin is the Akansas St. head coach.

Coach Pete is the exception. A testament to Boise State football program being the premier non aq.

This is great news! Just yesterday KTVB reported that he had withdrawn his name from consideration. They said it was a two man race between Dirk Koetter and Tedford. At 8:55 am MST BSU is supposed to make the formal announcement.

This should help Boise stay on track with the tradition they are used to. Harsin was the OC for 5 years ( I think) for Boise. We might be able to keep some of the comits that are waiting to see who is taking over.

Harsin was Boise State's top choice. I'm surprised Boise State stepped up to his $1.75 million buyout.

I almost feel like Boise tried to clone Petersen here. Harsin is both a former QB and successful Boise State OC. He is young and has deep Boise family ties (as he played his HS ball in Boise).

Some of the old Oregon circles I hear from say is he is quite cocky as he knows he has a very bright future and it comes off that way.

It's a good hire for BSU, A boise grown boy that should stick around, if he is winning. I also feel bad for Arky State, 3 coaches in 3 years kinda hard to build a program. I just hope Harsin will install the BSU style offense that makes us BSU. he needs to make a good hire for OC and DC. It will be interesting.

Next coach they hire (Arky State) should only get a one year contract renewable if he wants to stay and has done something of note. Seems they have a revolving door on their HC position recently. If the hire John L. Smith, he might stay a while

Wow, a kid I knew when he was little (that tells you how old I am). He came out of one of the best high school programs in the state. He got experience in both Boise and football crazy Texas before going to Ark. St. He understands QB. He played with Jake Plummer, and coached Kellen Moore. He knows Boise inside and out.

Things are happening fast, they have to, Boise cannot afford to leave recruits in the cold while a decision is made. Harsin knows the traditional BSU pipelines plus Texas and Arkansas. That's good, we've got some top players out of Lone Star country, like Jay Ajayi. It was clear from the finalists that it was very important that the hire be one who knew the inside, since Boise is the most successful program of the 21st century. Koetter had great experience, but did have baggage, losing at ASU and now in Atlanta, though he an X's and O's genius. Tedford, I've got no inside on him, but anyone who could win the PAC from Berkeley can't be all bad. Wilcox was kind of a pretty boy type, he was good and wasn't shy to let you know it. But you can't argue his pedigree.

So given what we know as outsiders here in town, Harsin is a natural. Young, energetic, smart, and home grown.

Don't know. I've seen both Coyle and Kustra welcome and announce Harsin as the new HC. Can't imagine how they could reverse this now.
