You think they make more than $1 million per home game (after variable operating costs)? I'm not so sure.

Regardless, there's a benefit to the program that has economic consequences down the road, so I think they need to suck it up and take the show on the road until they have a real stadium that it makes sense for major powers to visit.

Absolutely they do. The home team recives WAY more of the gate, the TV money, they get all the concessions they dont have to pay travel expenses incurred. There is a reason that almost every team that makes a bowl game actually loses money by going to said bowl ( unless its a BCS bowl). Travel is freaking expensive. You are hauling 100-125 people around and paying air, hotel, food etc.

TCU has a home and home with LSU and a game with Oklahoma in the next 2 years.

Then again, TCU is in Dallas, and Boise is in Boise.

Boise wouldn't bother as many fans if people (non Boise fans) would stop trying to shove them down our throats everytime they beat these mid-tier teams. They're quickly becoming the Tebow of college football teams.

The problem is that the media builds Boise up with the hopes of being able to tear them down but the Broncos are not being cooperative. The reality is that there is little to no economic sense to be made of scheduling these games if you are Boise unless you get a home game in return and from what Ive seen and read most of the big programs want either a 1 game home game or a 2 for 1 situation. Schools like Boise cant afford to miss home games especially since their other programs are not money makers.

Two points here..
Besides Boise being a good team;
They do not take the beating other quality teams take week in and week out= fresher at the end of the season
They rarely lose a JR to the draft, so they are playing a ton more upper classmen.

that's part of how we recruit, we recruit guys who want to be a part of the team, thus they stay the full 4 years, even if they are a high draft prospect like two of our defensive linemen and our left tackle.

TCU does have a bigger stadium, which is why with money we are planning on expanding ours to 53,000.

then these so called quality teams need to play us

we have an open slot on the 29th next year

so does Alabama, LSU(if they're willing to drop Towson), Oregon(if they're willing to drop Montana State), Oklahoma, Wisconsin(if they're willing to part with one of the games against the many scrubs they play).


maybe we could get a game against one of these teams???

Our schedule doesn't even have dates for the games next year except for Auburn, WKU, and Michigan. Although I looked up the date and we most likely will be playing Arkansas that day.
