Bob Mackenzie: Ilya missed team meeting Saturday morning

According to Bob Mackenzie of TSN, who imo is the best in the business and he doesn't write these things if he doesn't think they're true.

If he did miss the meeting, I think that MacLean definitely should have benched him. Like Cup said in the other thread, you can't have a double standard, and there obviously needed to be some kind of consequence.

If that is the reason, I'm completely fine with the benching. You can't let him off the hook just because he's Kovalchuk. However, if it was just for what people say is his inconsistent play, then I don't agree with it, especially since, as other people said, it was right after the team's probably most complete game thus far.

Missing a meeting makes more sense.however as used to Lou land secrecy as we are it may have made more sense for him to spill the beans in this case

I heard this rumour on Sunday, but wanted to make sure it was correct and not someone rambling off at the mouth. Mackenzie is great and a viable source for information.
