Williams will be 31 when the season starts. He isn't there to be a starter. I fully expect them to take a LB.

Unless Austin falls, then I expect them to take him.

For god's sakes, the Bears are paying DJ Williams less than a million a year.... They signed the dude for depth and to fill a position if they couldn't fill it anywhere else. It doesn't mean they plan to make him a longterm solution at the position. Just because you sign an FA at a position doesn't mean that position comes off the draft board.

Agreed, but their offensive line cost them their season last year. It was horrible. Like Arizona, it has to be priority one. Their defense is still good. Urlacher wasn't exactly dominant, so Williams is probably about an equal replacement to what they had. MLB is nowhere near as big a need as offensive line.

This is assuming Andre is either gone or still unsigned by draft day. If he re-signs then I would pick

16. Tyler Eifert TE 6'5½" 250 Notre Dame (up 1 spot

Since Gresham sucks, and Eifert would give us another red zone threat who might actually catch the fucking ball.

FYI I realize conditional picks are unacceptable, so I am going with Fluker for the record.

This pick can go in a number of directions. If Jonathan Cooper is available I think the Bengals will think long and hard about selecting the potential All-Pro guard which would solidify their line for the next 10 years. I also believe Justin Hunter, who's currently moving up the boards, is also on the list as the Bengals opt to give Andy Dalton another play-maker on offense. I think the uncertainty of Andre Smith's status brings D.J. Fluker's name into the conversation as the team has worked hard to build continuity this off-season and losing Smith without finding an adequate replacement would undermine all their hard work. I also believe the Bengal's inactivity during Free Agency may hint that they wish to upgrade the safety position through the draft so that may mean that Matt Elam, who's also flying up the board, could be a possibility. The only sure thing is that this isn't the Bengal's draft rooms of old where they would reach for a player at a position of need but have recently opted to select the best player on the board regardless of position.

My vote is for Jonathan Cooper.

I think the real draft will play out a lot differently as I don't believe Cooper gets past Dallas at the 18th pick but in this one the Bengals opt for the best player available and that player is Jonathan Cooper. Ps. I'm starting to believe when all is said and done that the real pick is going to come down to Justin Hunter and Matt Elam as Cooper, Alec Ogletree and D.J. Fluker will probably all be off the board by the 21st pick.

I just don't see the Bengals taking a G again. Mike Brown doesn't like drafting guards high. They like Boling on top of that. IMO:

Fluker: They could look at him him, but I think Flucker is a decoy to pressure Andre into signing.

Hunter: I think there's too much depth to draft a WR. They can get a first round talent in the 2nd round. It's too high for Hunter anyway. Austin, Patterson, Keenan Allen are all certainly ahead of him. Woods and DeAndre Hopkins are right with Hunter. I would wait til the 2nd at the earliest. They'll get a good one there.

Elam: See WR. The safeties as a whole are dropping. Vaccaro might be the only one selected in the 1st, and it might be in the 2nd half of the round. Rankings vary, but I have Vaccaro, Cyprien, Reid, then Elam.

Ogletree: A definite possibility. If they go LB, it will be Ogletree (Georgia, go figure) or Brown, who they are visiting with today.

Eifert: They love Gresham. He's probably not even under consideration.

A surprise pick could be somebody like Werner if he were to fall, or another DE like Tank Carradine, maybe even Alex Okafor, though it's a little high for him.

I'm not casting a vote, because I didn't vote for the rest of the teams, but of those listed, with Ogletree gone, Brown would be my pick.

The Bengals are already on record stating the Burfict is staying at ROLB, the only position Arthur Brown would be able to play. It's highly unlikely they draft him.

I don't necessarily believe that. If they go LB, they should take the best available, and Brown is that. He's a top 20 talent and should be the pick if he's there. Brown-Burfict-Maualuga with Lemur and the others as depth.
