Bo Pelini praised the passion of Husker fans on his radio show Thursday night, but he said he's disappointed when he hears college athletes getting booed.
There were some boo birds near the end of the first half during Nebraska's 34-27 comeback win over Ohio State on Saturday night. The Huskers trailed 17-6 at the time. Some boos came after a Taylor Martinez interception, and then again on the ensuing play when the Buckeyes moved into field-goal range after some sloppy tackling.
A caller to the "Sports Nightly" show brought up the subject of booing.
Pelini answered by saying Nebraska has great fans who are loyal, passionate and have much invested in the program.
"I know they want to win badly, but I just got to remind them we want to win just as bad," Pelini said.
As for booing, the coach said: "I don't believe there's any place for booing in a college stadium, and that's something I feel strongly about."
