Hopefully the hungry Kings team show up and tie this early. Not to put more pressure than is already there but this could define the Kings season. No bigger period than this so far this season.

Well so much for that, Kings down 2-0 on a Blues power play goal.

That about seals the deal, that was basically a must win. They need a lot to happen now

Credit to Allen, who may have ended our season, who was a wall last night. In the 2nd though look like he was having trouble with rebounds but no one crashed the net.

I went to the game last night. I actually thought LA played well, controlled play, but just didn't have nearly the quality chances that their opponent did. At one point shots were like 29-17, but the Kings just cannot generate those premier chances, and they definitely cannot finish. It was just their whole season summed up in one game.

I like some of the new guys, and at least they're getting a lot of quality playing time. Kempe is legit (He also cannot finish, but he makes things happen). I like this defense with a healthy Quick, and next year I would be really optimistic with this group.

Doughty had his worst game I can ever remember. He just looked drunk to be honest. QB of the Power Play and just looked awful. Lazy passes and sluggish overall. Then he got hot-headed and went after some Blues players, and capped it off with that delay of game with about 7 minutes left. Gaborik had 2 more penalties, and is pretty much the new-age Jarrot Stoll lately.

I think the writing is on the wall for Sutter more than Lombardi because it's the complete lack of creativity on something like the Power Play. My Dad said it looked like it was a street hockey game when the Kings are on the PP. Nothing is set, and they just take turns bringing up the puck and trying to do it all individually. There appears to be zero coaching involved. I know their issues stem from way before Sutter, but it just looks so non-threatening. The Blues PP had movement and made things happen. When they got their chances, they rang one off of the crossbar in the 2nd, and they buried the Kings with their early one in the 3rd (ANOTHER early period goal. Just over a minute into the period I think).

This team looks like the better team than their opponents in a lot of phases of the game, but in key spots, they are clearly missing something and just cannot finish shots.

That was disappointing, but they were unfortunate with Quick missing so much time. I'm no giving up, but I would guess-timate that their chances of making the Playoffs dropped to about 20% after last night's loss.
