...and bring in Hitchcock.

I thought Payne was doing a decent job. I guess Arniel is safe for the time being.

Doug Armstrong and Hitch worked together in Dallas - I thought Payne was doing okay as well, but maybe they wanted to make a move and beat Columbus to the punch.

I like the Blues and want them to do well. Not a big fan of Hitch personally, but he normally gets the job done.

Ken Hitchcock is not the answer.

bit surprised by this move. I would of thought the jackets would of been the first team to make a coaching move

yeah that is a surprising move but I like JD making this move. problem with Hichcock is you usually get a 1 1/2 years of solid play then his message/style gets pretty stale fast. going to be interesting to see how this plays out

No kidding...Similar to the Isles paying Cashin Yashin millions through 2015 not to play for them.

Johnny Yash?

I fell in to a freezin' ring of ice.
I went down, down, down
but the money sure was nice.

Yashin was bought out. He's already been paid. All the Islanders have is a 2.3 million dollar cap hit. Which for Wang makes it easier to reach the floor. The Islanders are only spending something like 40 million in actual salary this season.

That's right, my bad, he has been paid, it's just the cap hit that still is on the books.

Has discipline been a problem for the Blues this year? I know Halak hasn't played very well. Hitchcock is good at weeding guys out. It will be interesting to see who ends up dealt.

I'd be interested in Patrick Berglund...
