If the top 2 or 3 DL or off the board before we pick And we have the choice between Bradley Roby and Ha Ha Dix; Is Ha Ha the automic pick

I don't believe in Wilcox like may on this board do and I personally believe we need a shut down corner as much as we need a S. If the best DL on the board are gone I'm picking Roby at 16. Here's why the kid is 5'11'' tall with 4.39 speed and has been considered a shut down corner. Claiborne to this point hasn't worked out and in this league you need 3 or 4 quality cb's . We have 1 and a P. I know lol Twist would shoot the T.V. if the Cowboys make that pick, but hell I would be Oakley dokley okay if Roby was our pick. My wild card pick even though we don't need him would be Mike Evans though. I know lol we sure as hell don't need a wr.

I've seen "writers" opine that Evans would fall to us and we would take him. We don't need him, and it doesn't make any sense for us. Unless the plan is to then flip him after a year, I don't get it. We aren't trading Dez, I wouldn't think, and Williams doesn't have value yet. Evans is a beast and will be a great WR, but we have bigger needs and this one doesn't help us right now.

I would be very disappointed if we took a CB or WR at #16.

I will stay consistent with my feeling that you NEVER focus solely on need (it's a recipe for mediocrity) and pass on a player that you think is incredible value and may be an all time great, but I don't see that with either guy. So all else remaining equal I pass. If we go either CB or WR we MUST hit on the pick. If we do it improves our team of course. But, If we go with a position of need and end up with just an "OK", but not great player he likely still helps us in a rotation. If we end up with another "OK" corner or WR he doesn't really help us much at all...

I agree with you, but like you said if he end up being a great cb he can definitely change the direction of this teams defense, but I agree I love Mike Evans, but the Cowboys have no business drafting him. Just an article I read I wanted to see what most think.

Lots of players we could go with that are just as worthy as Donald.

As far as OL we still need 2 players OG OT so that's not a bad fall back position

but to guarantee that's something I would shy away from with Jerry at the helm

Robinson should go in the top 5. If by some miracle he were still there at 16, I'd be all for it. The same with Watkins, Mack, Barr or Clowney. Otherwise, I'd stick to the DT/S plan

Julio better than Dez? I think that's debatable. As far as Watkins go's he can be the next Rodgers who went number 1 to the Lions about 10 yrs ago you never no. Its no way at this point you can suggest Watkins is better than Dez

I think this is an interesting topic.
Because I can totally see someone falling out of the top 10 falling to us & we end up drafting a position no one is expecting us to draft predraft talk. (excluding QB)

I would take Watkins too, but don't see him getting out of the top 5. & I don't think I would even have a WR on my radar for the 1st round. but I would snag that guy. Also that doesn't mean we have to get rid of Dez unless he costs us to much.

Right now I still lean towards a badass DT. Worst thing for an offense is being disrupted up the middle. But if a super ranked guy falls to us, have to consider it (except QB)

I know there is no sure things in the draft, but I think Watkins is the surest pick in the 1st round.
